Smart Home Mom – Echo Buttons

Editor’s note: This is a guest post from my wife, who has fully embraced the smart home life.  You can see more from her in her post Ten Ways an Amazon Echo Can Help with Babies and How to Use Amazon Echo as a Baby Monitor.
Nap time can be a struggle, but add a little incentive and relaxing music and it can be a breeze. Introducing the Amazon Echo buttons. Marketed mainly for game play, these buttons do way more than letting you buzz in with a game show answer. We set these buttons to turn off the lights and turn on the lullaby playlist in our daughters room for her nap time. She loves pressing the button before going down for her nap!
These buttons quickly and easily connect to any Amazon Echo, and you can program them to do routines as you see fit. The same button we use before nap is also programmed to turn off her light, turn on her night light, and turn on her sound machine before bedtime. Same button, different routine based on the time of day!  Nap time is dare i say it…easy!
As an added bonus, when grandma comes for a visit and can’t remember the exact phrases for the music or lights, all she has to do is press the button to get the lights off and music on. No extra work for anyone! These buttons are the most underrated and under marketed gems in the smart home world.
Echo buttons usually sell for about $20 for a two pack, and you can pair up to four to a single Echo, but historically they drop to $10 or less from Black Friday through the holiday season.
